2006 HAT Awards

The HAT Awards started many traditions with the 2006 event. One such tradition was the Honoree Compilation CD. Artists featured in 2006 include JTurtle, Tommy Edwards, Aaron Bowen, Kim Divine, Tim Mudd, Steph Johnson, Will Edwards, Barbara Nesbitt, Nathan Welden, Jen Knight, Joe Rathburn, Kyle Phelan and Michael Tiernan.

Down In The Lab

Down In The Lab is known for dramatic performances and an incredibly powerful sound. They perform all over San Diego and have been featured at the Southern California Gothic/Industrial Music Festival in San Diego.

Frances Charlotte

Gato Papacitos

Gato Papacitos, or Cat Daddies, represents some of San Diego's most outstandingly talented performers. The group's original compositions are a spontaneous metamorphosis and fusion of flamenco, classical, jazz, and contemporary style.

JTurtle

JTurtle is a percussive guitarist who relies on dynamic ebb and flow in his music. His lyrical style is that of a storyteller and his songs capture the array of moods and moments present in each of our lives. As a live touring performer, Jason has developed a unique style and reputation.

Laura Kuebel

Laura Kuebel's voice is reminiscent of the down-to-earth Midwestern values that have shaped her steady approach to making music. Without pretense, Laura tells stories of real people that matter, but whom you don't always notice. Along For The Ride is Laura's debut EP, offering each of us the chance to ground ourselves and have our voices heard.

The Gooses

The Gooses have been playing together for a short amount of time and have already established themselves as one of Southern California's most entertaining and original bands. The Turtle Project

These boys should know better. The Turtle Project is a trio of veteran musicians from a city known for its punk. But they infuse their rock songs with jazz instead. Their debut album, Intopaz, comes at a time when emo ballads and college rock are all the rage. But the Turtle Project finds inspiration in a more classical sort of American folk. While others audition for reality singalongs and dream of hearing their songs on a TV commercial, the Turtle Project does it old school: pounding the streets and bringing in fans one at a time. The Will Edwards Band

The Will Edwards Band walks the fine line where rock, country, folk and blues intersect.By blending influences from Bach to The Beach Boys to Bob Dylan the varied backgrounds, instrumentation and talents showcased in the group have defined a new genre the band calls Acoustic Americana Folk Rock.
